Corporate Overview

ELTA TECHNOLOGY
Founded in the year 2000, a new media company with technology as its DNA.

In its early stages, ELTA consistently pioneered new achievements in the domestic new media industry. It started with the establishment of Taiwan's first broadband video portal, "CH5.TV," followed by the integration of content from domestic terrestrial TV broadcasters and film producers, and the creation of a paid VOD (Video on Demand) business model. ELTA further integrated various video viewing platforms, including Chunghwa Telecom's IPTV service MOD, the online platform Hami Video, and established its own OTT platform, ELTA.tv. With its capabilities and partnerships, ELTA has set industry milestones.

In 2008, during the rise of digital video, ELTA secured the world’s first new media broadcasting license for the Olympic Games, marking its official entry into the TV channel business by establishing ELTA TV and providing full coverage of that year’s Beijing Olympics. ELTA now operates 6 self-owned TV channels (ELTA Sports 1, ELTA Sports 2, ELTA Sports 3, ELTA Sports 4, ELTA Movie and Drama Channel, and ELTA General Channel), and serves as the agent for 10 foreign TV channels and 16 OTT channels.

To provide more high-quality content, ELTA has successively introduced a variety of premium programs, including Korean dramas, Chinese dramas, Japanese dramas, and British dramas, while actively securing broadcasting rights for top international sporting events. Since 2008, ELTA has broadcast 5 Olympic Games (Beijing, London, Rio, Tokyo, Paris), 4 Asian Games (Guangzhou, Incheon, Jakarta-Palembang, Hangzhou), 4 FIFA World Cups (South Africa, Brazil, Russia, Qatar), as well as multiple Winter Olympics, Youth Olympics, and other major international sporting events.

To date, ELTA provides over 10,000 hours of live sports broadcasts annually, writing history through sports coverage, which has become ELTA's unwavering mission. In addition, ELTA has invested in the content industry, producing in-house programs that are not only exported overseas but have also been nominated for the Golden Bell Awards for three consecutive years (Around the World in 800 Days, Chef's League, and Celebrations of the Earth). This recognition is both an encouragement and a testament to ELTA's professionalism.

In a rapidly changing industry environment, ELTA has created new business opportunities through diversified development. Recognizing the potential of digital convergence to drive new opportunities, we launched ELTA's OTT service (ELTA.tv), allowing viewers to experience the convenience of TV Anywhere. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, we achieved over a billion page views. With the rise of the stay-at-home economy, ELTA's online shopping platform (ELTAgo) was launched, leveraging the power of 3 million social media followers to monetize traffic, adding momentum to the company's growth.

On March 26, 2024, ELTA Technology became the first new media company to be listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange's Innovation Board. This was a historic moment for ELTA Technology, a new milestone for Taiwan's new media industry, and the result of the collective efforts of all ELTA employees. In the face of the digital convergence wave, all ELTA employees continue to uphold the ELTA spirit of "dedication, passion, professionalism, and mission-driven" as they forge ahead with determination. Riding the waves of 5G and AI, ELTA establishes a strong presence on both the MOD and OTT platforms, using digital media to connect with the world.
